Analyzing Ads

Turn competitor ads into actionable insights your team can apply immediately.

The Psychology Framework

Every ad is scored against a multi-dimensional framework that reveals exactly why it stops the scroll and drives action.

4 Core Desires

Every high-performing ad targets at least one fundamental human desire.

  • Money - save it, make more of it, or protect it
  • Time - save it, reclaim it, or stop wasting it
  • Health - improve it, protect it, or restore it
  • Status - gain it, display it, or defend it

6 Psychological Checkpoints

The analysis scores how many psychological checkpoints an ad passes, from 0 for weak to 6 for elite. Ads that pass 4 or more checkpoints consistently outperform.

16 Emotional Triggers

StealAds identifies which emotional triggers an ad is pulling, including frustration, hope, curiosity, FOMO, trust, and urgency. Understanding the trigger mix tells you how to replicate the emotional response.

Example analysis output:

Primary Desire: STATUS

Trigger: Social Proof + Scarcity

Hook Type: Contrarian Snapback

Checkpoints Passed: 5/6

Funnel Stage: TOFU

Scroll-Stop Score: 87/100

Spotting Patterns

Individual ad breakdowns are useful. Patterns across a competitor's entire ad library are powerful.

When you analyze multiple ads from the same competitor, look for the signals that keep repeating.

  • Repeating hook archetypes - if a competitor keeps using Contrarian Snapback hooks, that format is working for their audience
  • Dominant desires - most brands anchor to 1 or 2 desires, and knowing which ones tells you what resonates
  • Funnel stage clusters - mostly TOFU or mostly BOFU reveals their strategy
  • Trigger combinations - urgency plus social proof or curiosity plus FOMO often work better together than alone
  • Visual patterns - color schemes, layout structures, and image types that keep showing up across winners

From Analysis to Creative

You don't need to write creative briefs manually. Every psychology breakdown is already a brief.

When you hit generate on an analyzed ad, StealAds takes the full psychology breakdown, including desires, triggers, hook archetype, funnel stage, and visual structure, and combines it with your brand identity to produce finished creative.

The psychology is the engine. Your brand is the paint job. StealAds builds the car.

Each generated concept includes:

  • Multiple headline options with rationale for why each one works
  • Full body copy that matches the emotional trigger profile
  • CTA matched to the appropriate funnel stage
  • Image direction or generated visual using your brand assets
